The introduction of Artificial Intelligence is considered as one of the hallmarks for Industry 4.0. It is expected to be the era wherein deliverables are met at an exponential capacity. It is of no doubt that such a technology brings about benefits for institutions. However, it is to be noted that every technology have externalities.

In relation to Artificial Intelligence technologies, Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod, via its research project entitled: “Scanning the Artificial Intelligence Landscape (SAIL)”, is recently gathering information on AI technologies that are currently available in the Philippines. Information will be shared during the National Artificial Intelligence Expo which will be held on November 2020 at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Taft Ave., Malate, Manila.

1. Familiarize strategies which leads to the utilization of AI tech that complements human capacities benefiting the latter rather than replacing them

1.1 Provide a forum for people from civil society and the government to discourse on responsible utilization of Artificial Intelligence and analyze its current issues

1.2 Looking at new perspectives through the lens of different experts on how to enable the beneficial co-existence of humans and Artificial Intelligence in working together for the betterment of the society

2. Draw out the advantages in the adoption of AI tech in terms of effectiveness and efficiency in
Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; Manufacturing; Administration and Support Services; Retail Trade; Transportation and Storage; Finance and Microfinance; Education; Healthcare

2.1 Provide an avenue for interactions of people from the civil society and the government to establish relations and collaboration which could lead to wise utilization of AI tech geared towards growth and innovation on future working environments

2.2 Foster scientific exchange of information on the latest trends in AI tech and how the trends are shaping the society

3. Acknowledge the negative externalities of AI tech and examine measures that can potentially curb or avoid its harmful effects

3.1 Spread awareness to ensure all sectors have an insightful understanding to the issues arising out of Artificial Intelligence, its by-products and concrete impact

3.2 Discuss alternatives for digital roadmap to prevent potential harmful effects of Artificial Intelligence and promoting its equitable, inclusive, and transparent use
